Abstract
This is a study of how Social Medicine Advocacy, Re= search and Training (SMART) can be Enhanced By Tele-medicine Extended via Surveill= ance IP Security Camera Systems. T= he study describes how SINSCS advances the causes of Forum, Social Medicine an= d Health Equity.
It is an inter-disciplinary study of community-base= d approaches For addressing health disparities. We describe how installing SINSCS in a university environment we encourage all University faculty, Staff, and grad= uate students as well as community members to create community-based research an= d advocacy efforts that address health disparities and/or inform health-care policy. E= xamples of such efforts include,
But are not limited to the following: Public health= –where the public can participate in free Audio Video (AV) conferencing using this SINSCS; Social epidemiology- where doctors can share concerns about epidemi= cs such as AIDS; Community-based participatory research- Where the public can participate in medical trials; Qualitative research with underserved popula= tions –where the Doctors can administer services without physically exposing themselves to undue financial or physical risk; Evaluation of University-co= mmunity partnerships- where such systems can assess the impact on the community or = individuals health
outcomes at no additional costs; Health behaviors a= nd lifestyles- where the SINSCS can automatically document and vet medical educational AV materials; Health communications/education- where these SINSCS web-cast, archive, and distribute tele-medical information. Health services/economics- where s= uch SINSCS under-write and fund community services promoting Health-care ethics, Popul= ation health/genomics.
