Problems w= ith High Speed CD-RW Media, Multipl= e Drive Incompatibilities & Write-Once Compatibility

If you experience problems using = high-speed media with a low speed drive, please check with the manufacturer of your dr= ive to determine what type of media is supported. Upgrade your drives to the fastest possible drives, they can easily slow down, but slow drives can not speed further beyond their speed limits! If you have multiple IDE devices connected to the same IDE channel, you may experience problems using DLA simultaneously with other mastering software. For example, you may have a mother board IDE controller for the 1^st hard drive, and an external IDE adopter for additional hard drives (such as Prom= ise Technology Ultra IDE Controllers). To remedy this connect your IDE devices = to a different IDE channel (see your computer's User Guide for more information). Place only 1 device per channel even if the channel can handle a maximum of= 2 devices. If you have two iden= tical optical drives installed on your computer, DLA = will only recognize one. This issue can also occur when different versions (IDE, USB, SCSI, etc.) of the same drive are installed. This version of DLA does not support CD-R, DVD-R and other write-once media; use CD-RW, and DVD= -RW whenever possible. Even thoug= h it is more expensive, it gives you the option to erase and re-record.

Universal Data Format (UDF), DVD Rendered Useless, & the “Blue Screen of Death,” =

EasyWrite drives are sometimes referred to as Mt. Rainier drives. They can read discs created in both the EasyWrite format Universal = Data Format (UDF 1.02) and the traditional DLA format (UDF 1.5). DLA has= been designed to support EasyWrite drives, but EasyWrite functionality is not available in all drives. The trouble with it is that it is not clear to the users, especially since some vendors with their software support only UDF2.0= or higher. Such a vendor is Pana= sonic with its software packages such as DVD-Movie Album. The trouble is that as soon as the= DLA software reads the drive, it marks it as UDF1.5, without any permission or notice to the user.= Later as the user tries to run DVD= -Movie Album, to edit the DVD-RAM media, the Panasonic software quits with an error that tells the user that the UDF2.0 has been downgraded to UDF1.5. Eventually the entire DVD is rende= red useless. In this case, you ha= ve lost the content, and sometimes the registry of the computer is also in tro= uble due to the conflicting software standards.= Sooner or later you will get the “b= lue screen of death,” you will have to re-install the OS (Operating Syste= m) and lose all you work! So Wat= ch out!! Use r= edundant systems, hard-drives, burners, and even stand alone systems, and LANs.

DVD-R to DVD-RW copies may not be appendable, use DVD+R to DVD+RW, or DVD-RAM

The Exact Copy project can be use= d to copy the contents of a DVD-R disc onto a DVD-RW disc. However, if the origi= nal DVD-R disc contains more than one recording session, you will not be able to add any additional data to the DVD-RW disc after the Exact Copy project is finished. This is true even if the original DVD-R disc was appendable. Use DVD-RAM as appendable media. Windows Media = Player is used to gather titles for the songs on your music CDs. Once the titles a= re found, either on your system or from the Internet, they are displayed in the project window. These titles are only displayed if Windows Media Player is installed on your computer and configured correctly. Windows Media Player is available as a free download from Microsoft.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, & IMPLICATIONS

This study describes how to evaluate the producti= on of instructional multimedia video how-to D= VDs for maximum ROI, focusing on: lecture CD & DVD-authoring, editing, web-casting, streaming & publishing, as a specialization within the how= -to DVD production industry. The = study reviewed the cost benefit analysis of a variety of issues, related to plann= ing, shooting, editing, revising, marketing, advertising, promoting, selling and calculating the profits and the ROI. One of the most important quest= ions is which topic you should pick for your DVD production. This study discusses topics such as academic versus mass market, DVD authoring and editing using such subjects as such as Java, VB.Net programming language, and eManagement Accounting. As a member= of a large association, you can easily partner with t= hem, and let them market your DVDs. This may have advantages and disadvantages. Most significant disadvantage is the loss of full control and flexibility.

Any high tech areas of specialty and publications will be very profitable especially if marketed by the journals or professio= nal associations, such topics include programming languages and DVD-Authoring techniques. We could market these video DVDs, after converting them as video CDs (Compact Disks), audio CDs, audio DVDs, Streamable media, in addition to transcribed teacher notes of text! Which one is better,= what is the trade off among them, or maybe all of the above is the best approach= ? Our conclusion is that they a= re mutually inclusive, and complementary, so do all of the above and time will tell. What file names should = we use? Should we describe the content of the DVDs and video clips or settle f= or the hex based file names that the recording equipment generates automatical= ly? How about vanity toll free telephone numbers that are also domain names and URLs, should they be overlaid pre-production vanity telephone numbers URL Web Sites Hyperlinked? For now = our conclusion is try it and see, it costs very little and may boost the ROI. A= re such ads anti-piracy business methods that credit original DVD-Producers? Do they raise the ROI, or are they more trouble than they are worth? For experimentation purposes, it m= ay well be worth it.

Sarbanes-Oxley Microsoft Accelerator Forensic accounting workshop demonstrates how Accounting academics and practitioners can use Microso= ft Share Point Team Services and Share Point Server to assist an internal = audit team in implementing, investigating, and improving compliance audit services. It describes how to become an Accounting Expert Witness and how to provide Expert Witness Testimony, = with an emphasis on HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability), Sarbanes-Oxley, and Basel II Compliance Forensic Accounting.

We will discuss R&D for experienced expert witnesses, including the issues of dealing with the forensic team of professionals. This workshop focuses on using forensic accounting techniques in general, and providi= ng Computer Litigation Support in particular. The workshop objectives incl= ude helping experienced expert witnesses to review their skills and upgrade them, while demonstrating to prospective expert witnesses the nature of= the work, its intellectual challenges and financial opportunities and rewar= ds. We plan to meet such objectives, by lectures, role playing, demonstrations, and most importantly active participati= on of the audience as well as discussions and arguments of pros and cons of various issues.

GENERAL INFORMATION

About the Pr= ogram:

Avi &= ; Sara Rushinek have been teaching dancing at the uni= versity of Miami since 1987, at the continuing education school and at the Hillel Center. Their unique teaching style incl= udes video taping the dancing instructors, while recording their dance to DVD. The students receive a= free copy of the video dance as part of their tuition.. The students can revie= w the dance and play it back as much as needed. Our program begins with a beginner's course, w= hich is designed for everyone from a person with absolutely no prior dancing experience, as well as others who've danced ba= llroom but are not familiar with Casino style. Upon successful completion of the Beginner's course, students may move into Intermediate I, then Intermediate II and finally the Advanced courses.<= /span>

This = course is ideal preparation for weddings and social events. The classes are not cumulative so you can start anytime.

About the cl= asses:

Each cou= rse consists of 10 classes, each of which is 90 minutes long. It is our missi= on to provide every student with a complete 90 minutes of valuable and relev= ant advice and information in a relaxed atmosphere. The material covered in e= ach class will build upon material covered in previous classes, so it is very important that students attend each class!

It is not required that you bring a partner. Students will get to dance with all ot= her students of the appropriate gender, which will serve to help develop bett= er dancing skills.

The cost= of each course is $50.00 for members and $60.00 for non-members. To sign up = for a course, visit the Wellness Suite, which is on the second floor of the Center. REPEATIN= G A CLASS

Some stu= dents move through each course with ease, while others will struggle the first = time around. We believe that, with some effort and perseverance, each student = can successfully learn and become good dancers. Each instructor will emphasize strongly that it is better to repeat a course and learn the information v= ery well than to move into a course and end up quitting because it is too difficult. We want to make it as easy as possible for students to repeat a class, and we are happy to offer this option to students for only $25.00.= If you are interested in repeating a course for which you've previously registered, all you need to do is send an email message at least 48 hours before the first class to email arushine@aol.com<= /span> , or at arush@miami.edu and have your name= added to the roster. Then, stop by the Welness Suite before the first class in = the course and pay the $25.00 to complete your registration. Remember: t= he email message is required to be registered as a repeater!
