Nero 7 KILLED Sonic MyDVD 6 Incompatible with inCD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Went to make a DVD movie after capturing with ATI Multimedia Center 9.08. Imported the movie to Sonic MY DVD 6, like always...and after starting the burn...the program aborts the burn...did it at least four times. So I wiped the drive and restored from a backup where I was still running Nero 6.6.0.16 and lo and behold...it burns again. If I reinstall Nero 7...My DVD Fails again. If I remove Nero...My DVD Burns again...so with Nero 7 on the hard drive...problems burning with My DVD 6...remove Nero and all is good. I hope someone from Nero reads this...if you use both softwares...stick with Nero 6.6
Back to 6.6.0.16

What speed are you burning your DVD-Rs at in PIO-mode with Nero? Because when I use PIO-mode, 4x is already overloading my Athlon 800 (maybe you have a faster processor), and either it constantly uses BurnProof or fails totally.
- You have no problems at all with RecordNow DX and DVD-R? Because I do get problems with that (RN either waits forever for the burner to start, or I get this Sense 5 error)...
So there are four possibilities:
- the 411s and 811s are incompatible with Nero in conjunction with a VIA KT133A
- both our drives are faulty
- Nero has to be changed so as to support our drives (which I find strange)
- the 411s and 811s do generally have problems with DVD-R (but then why does yours work with DVD-R) when used with KT133A.
The ugly part is that I have used three other burners without any trouble whatsoever in this PC (Pioneer 104, HP DVD200i, Pioneer 106D), and all of them worked perfectly with any version of Nero with any DVDs... Never had a problem like this before!
Tomorrow I will try again with the other PCs, today I used a DVD-RW for testing, maybe that's different.
Maybe our drives are really faulty, otherwise I think there would be more people having the same problem (or is the KT133A so rare already?)
